You can go to Sungai Petani by car or by express bus through North-South Expressway. The journey will take a long time though, especially if you are from the southern part of Malaysia. The traffic during public holiday might even cost you few more extra hours to reach Sungai Petani. Hence, many locals and even tourist who wish to visit the town would opt to the take the ETS train to Sungai Petani.
Sungai Petani is a town located at the southern part of Kedah. Situated nearby Butterworth and Penang Island, Sungai Petani is a well-developed town with established and growing businesses and industries. There are two types of tickets for train to Sungai Petani:
KTM Sungai Petani or Sungai Petani Railway Station is located at the center of the town, within walking distance to the famous clock tower of Sungai Petani. The train station is also conveniently built nearby the Sungai Petani Bus Station, which is reachable within 5-10 minutes walking distance. From the bus station, you can look for taxi or local bus to take you to your next destination.
The train is comfortable and suitable to facilitate senior citizens and handicapped.
Passengers can find F&B bar in coach C to get some food or drinks with reasonable price.
