Batu Pahat is second only to Johor Bahru, this rapidly expanding town is also considered as the textile capital of Malaysia. It still retains a semblance of old world atmosphere, especially in its buildings which reflect their Asian influences and culture which meld harmoniously into this busy, fast paced town.
Today, Batu Pahat is becoming an increasingly popular conference venue and regional business centre. Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia founded in year 1993 has made it becoming the education hub in the regional area. It is also a favourite resting place with road travelers, a brief stop here should give you a chance to taste a wide range of fruits, groundnut and other local delicacies as well as souvenirs and curious.

Because there is no train station and airport in Batu Pahat, bus is the only transport to go to the town. Good frequency and reasonable bus fare of bus service is available from Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur to Batu Pahat.
