I had some amazing time in Langkawi Island for the past few days with my family. However, a good vacation is never long enough. Therefore, we decided to go to Kuala Perlis, the small fishing town, to experience the rural life in Malaysia.
Below is the summary of our journey:
1) | Departure from Jetty Langkawi |
2) | Arrival in Kuala Perlis |
Departure from Jetty Langkawi
We bought 3pm ferry ticket from Langkawi Island to Kuala Perlis. Therefore, we reached the ferry terminal at 2.15pm to wait for the ferry to arrive. Please note that passengers are advised to reach the ferry terminal at least 30 minutes in advance, as encouraged.
I walked around the ferry terminal because there was still some time left before the departure time of the ferry. Inside the ferry terminal, I saw many bus, ferry and tour ticketing counters. Also, there are waiting areas, shops, duty free shops, and kiosks. You not only can take a taxi in ferry terminal, you also can rent a car or motorcycle for self-driving purpose because there is a information counter for car and motorcycle renting in this ferry terminal.
I proceeded to the custom check points before boarding. While waiting for the ferry to reach the jetty, I sat down patiently in the waiting area.
At 2:45pm, ferry to Kuala Perlis arrived jetty Langkawi. The ferry then departed on time at 3pm.
The ferry from Langkawi Island to Kuala Perlis was so comfortable with air-conditioner. There are TV, toilet, life jackets, and luggage compartment in the ferry. If you feel hungry during the journey, you can buy some snacks to fill in your stomach in the ferry.
Arrival in Kuala Perlis
After travelling by sea for 1 hour, we finally arrived Jetty Kuala Perlis. From there, we took a taxi to the nearby seafood restaurant to enjoy the fresh seafood first before we started to explore this small fishing village.
