My journey was as follows:
1) | Check-in at Golden Mile Complex |
2) | Board the bus |
3) | Arrival at Tuas Checkpoint |
4) | Arrival at Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ Complex |
5) | Stop at Yong Peng Lucky Garden |
6) | Arrival at Teluk Intan |
1) Check-in at Golden Mile Complex
The bus I chose for this trip was from The One Travel & Tours. I arrived at The One Travel & Tours office about 1 hour earlier from the departure time. Therefore, I decided to have my breakfast at Golden Mile Food Court, which is located at the opposite of the Golden Mile Complex. The price of the food is reasonable and delicious.
After having breakfast for about 20 minutes, I went to The One Travel & Tours office 30 minutes in advance from the departure time to check-in, as encouraged. For this trip, I didn't have to exchange my printed voucher to actual bus ticket.
Below is the main office of The One Travel & Tour in Golden Mile Complex.
2) Board the bus
The staff at the counter informed me that the bus that I will be taking from Singapore to Teluk Intan, is the LPMS Express bus. Actually, LPMS Express is managed by The One Travel and Tours. The pick-up point is located at the parking lot between the Golden Mile Complex and the Destination Singapore Beach Road.
The bus was a double-decker bus. If you have heavy luggage, you can put your luggage at the lower deck. The interior of the bus was spacious and comfortable with air-cons, curtains, dustbin, and adjustable seats.
Also, there are 2 CCTVs installed on the bus in order to ensure the safety of the passengers on the bus. There were 2 drivers operating the bus; one is the main driver, another one is the standby driver.
3) Arrival at Tuas Checkpoint
The bus from Golden Mile Complex took me about 40 minutes to reach Tuas Checkpoint. The standby bus driver led us to eIACS (enhanced-Immigration Automated Clearance System) for faster clearance. It took me only 5 minutes with the whole process due to the non-peak hour.
After that, I followed the standby bus driver to the bus. For those who don't know how to use eIACS, don't worry, the standby bus driver is always ready to assist you for that.
4) Arrival at Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ Complex
The bus from Tuas Checkpoint took me about 5 minutes to reach Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ Complex. The standby bus driver led us to the immigration counter for immigration clearance. Going further, I had to pass through a luggage scanner checkpoint.
Make sure you do not bring anything illegal or else you might get stuck here and delay your journey. Upon completing the luggage scanner checkpoint, I followed the standby bus driver to the bus.
Passengers are advised to bring all your belongings with you all the time during the immigration clearance process because bus operator will not be responsible for any loss of your luggage or belongings.
The maximum waiting time at the immigration is about 30 minutes, if you miss the bus, you have to make your own arrangement. Therefore, make sure you inform your bus driver before you go for washroom or food.
Stop at Yong Peng Lucky Garden
After about 1 hour and 10 minutes of the bus journey, the bus stopped at Yong Peng Lucky Garden. The bus driver gave us a 30-minutes break for washroom and lunch. At Yong Seng Lucky Garden, it sells different kinds of foods and local products. There were many buses from Singapore to Malaysia lingered here for rest.
For the passenger whose destination is Sekinchan, the bus driver will arrange you to transfer to another bus for the rest of the bus journey. Therefore, the place was just a temporary stop for the journey ahead, nothing more.
You can have your lunch here. There are many food stalls operating in Yong Peng Lucky Garden. You can also buy some Malaysia local products as souvenirs for your family and friends at Yong Peng Lucky Garden.
6) Arrival at Teluk Intan
For the rest of the journey, I slept comfortably in my seat. Upon reaching Teluk Intan Bus Terminal, which is the drop-off point in Teluk Intan, I woke up and prepared to get off the bus.
After making sure all my belongings are with me, I stepped out of the bus and I began exploring Teluk Intan. I visited the famous town attraction in Teluk Intan –the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan, and I went to eat their local must-eat food –Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun.
I went to visit the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan straight after leaving the bus terminal. As far as I know, the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan was built for the purpose as a water tower, and as a beacon to guide ships into Teluk Intan Port.
Now, the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan serves as a clock tower, which still rings every 15 minutes. Every night, coloured lights installed on its exterior illuminate the leaning tower. Different colours rotate every few minutes. It was so beautiful at night.
Before going back to the hotel, I went to Min Kee Food Enterprise for the famous traditional Chee Cheong Fun. It is very different from the traditional Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun and Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun, which is usually served wet, but Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun is normally served dry. It tasted so good and I will come back again for this whenever I get a chance.
Overall, I’m satisfied with my trip from Singapore to Teluk Intan. It was a wonderful and comfortable trip with The One Travel & Tours. I think I will take The One Travel & Tours again for my next trip!
