Travel Guide from Kuala Lumpur to Sungai Nibong with City Holidays Express

Tanjong Tokong Penang

As a foodaholic, I decided to have a food trip in Penang with a bunch of friends after knowing Penang is the Asia’s greatest street food city. We booked our bus tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Sungai Nibong with BusOnlineTicket.com and received the confirmation email instantly after booking is made through online. BusOnlineTicket.com is a very convenient online ticketing portal for me who is lazy to go to the ticket counter to buy bus ticket.

My journey was as follows:

  • Departure from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan
  • Rest stop at RTC Gopeng
  • Arrival in Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal

Departure in Terminal Bersepadu Selatan

I booked an 11:59PM overnight bus from Kuala Lumpur to Sungai Nibong with City Holidays Express. I arrived at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, known as TBS, 1 hour earlier from my departure time. Please note that, passengers are advised to check-in 30 minutes in advance from the departure time. After that, I went to the online ticket redemption counter and exchanged my printed bus ticket to the standard bus ticket.

In Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, I saw many ticketing counters and self-service ticketing machine to allow people to buy tickets from there. There were just only a few of people queuing up at the ticketing counter to purchase their ticket. However, passengers are advised to book their bus ticket online or in advance especially during weekend, school holiday or peak season.

According to the information stated on my ticket, I should go to Gate 14 to take my bus. Therefore, I took an escalator down to the bus platform and sat at the waiting area in front of the Gate 14 to wait for the staff to announce the arrival of bus from Kuala Lumpur to Sungai Nibong.

After few minutes of waiting, the bus finally arrived at the platform on time. I got in the bus after the final check-in at the counter in front of Gate 14.

After around 2.5 hours of driving, the bus stopped at RTC Gopeng for passengers to rest and buy some food to eat. However, there were only few food stalls still opening in RTC Gopeng and the rest were all closed. Please note that you need to pay RM0.50 if you want to use the toilet.

After travelling for 5.5 hours from Kuala Lumpur TBS, the bus finally arrived at Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal. Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal is a well-established bus terminal with toilet, prayer room, food stalls, taxi service, shuttle bus service and other facilities.
